About Me

I raised Monarch butterfies as a child in NJ, USA and we grew milkweed plants for the butterfiles to lay eggs on.  In Israel I have raised silk moth caterpillars and moths and also the Shabtai Hashaked moth. We had 10 caterpillars and only one actually reached the stage of spinning a cocoon. Pinhas Amitai gave me these caterpillars. I think they became infected with a parasite which killed them. This was in the 1980s. I also have Yithak Eisenstein's book about butterflies. I met him when I lived in Kiryat Moshe st. also in the early 1980s.

I am translating a book by Roni Givati called the Butterfly Girl and the CLown and I am looking for the names (in English) of butterflies that she mentions. I was now looking for the translation of כחליל  and I found this website and I see there are many butterflies with this name and different names in Latin. ...
