Lycanidae of Israel

April - September, Northern half of Israel (in the beginning of the 20th century was also common in south Israel).

Above - male, middle - female. (on right - larva and pupae in and out of the foodplant and a living adult). a migrating tropical specie which migrate to Israel from Africa. Flies all year and can be found everywhere.

 

above-male. Can be found everywhere in Israel from February to November. very common.

May to July. Can be found on Jerusalem mountains area and north to Mt.Hermon through the Carmel mountains, west Galilee, Mt.Meron area, Mt.Ramim area and upper Golan area. 

February to December. Can be found almost everywhere in Israel except for the Negev, Arava, and Gaza strip.

(female, mating couple and larva). very common everywhere all year.

All year, from Mt.Hermon and south through the eastern boarder (in a very narrow path) to Eilat in the south. also can be found on the Gaza strip.

 

 

above-male,below-female. Found only on Mt.Hermon on June-July.

  

Left -2 males, Right -2 females. February-November. Can be foud in all of the Northern half of Israel and the Gaza strip.

above-male,below-female.  Mt.Hermon 1600m and above. June-August.

above-2 males  and a female. Distribution: Golan hights and Mt.Hermon, May-June.

above-male, below-female. From Jerusalem mountains and north to Mt.Hermon, February - September.

above-2 males, below-female. February-April. Can be found in the Negev area.

Endemic specie. flies on Mt.Hermon 1700m and above. May-August.

April-June. Mt.Hermon and Mt.Meron, there it is not common.
