According to Lobl & Smetana it is synonym with L. cervus cervus (nominal species)

Hmmm to me it looks very different from Lucanus cervus cervus. The colouration is not the same and the antannae have 6 enlarged segments, Lucanus cervus cervus only has 4 enlarged segments.

Hi Yan, its 80mm male, usually in Israel they are 50-60mm, smaller than European specimens, so it was a big suprise and very exiting. nature at its best. I have many new thoughts after this evening regarding the local population, I will tell you over the phone.
