Hi

I need an identification to the Orange bugs in my photo from Khirbet Bata, which I am now constructing.

If there is any Biblical reference to beetles, either in general or these ones, pls tell me so I can add it into the page.

Thanks

Hi Rotem,

The beetle is belong to the family Cantharidae and most likely Cantharis atrofoveolatus.

Sorry for the late reply, its the end of collecting season and too much work leaving me so little time..

Oz this Cantharidae look to me as Rhagonycha sp, smaller then Cantharis sp and found many times on Apiaceae plants (Umbelliferae)
