Hi

I need an identification to the beetles in my photo from Tell Beit She'an.

If there is any Biblical reference to beetles, either in general or these ones, pls tell me so I can add it into the page.

Thanks

Hi Rotem,

This is not a beetle. It is a "Pishpesh".

Its latin name is Graphosoma lineatum and it belongs to the Heteroptera.

Its hebrew name is "Trisit Hapasim".

You can find it on this website in this page: http://www.nature-of-oz.com/heteroptera.htm

Best regards,

Oz

Thanks Oz for the quick identification. I have added credit to you and link to the web page.

Any references to bugs in the Bible? I try to relate my photos to Biblical references.

Hi Rotem,

My knowledge of the bible is not so well for me to know where insects are mentioned, but I see you did a good job with it!

Regards,

Oz
