In the last 7 days the dunes near the coast line start to show a slow activity. Coleoptera found are mainly carrion related species (Dermeste frischi, Necrobia rufipes, Aphodius sps, Staphylinids ect). Few Adesmia dillatata still under shelter and smaller sps of Carabidae and Silphidae. Under the sand larvae of Scarabs sps, perhaps Oxythyrea or Tropinota but who realy knonws. Dermestes frischi was found on carrion but under bark as well. It was id by the scales on pronotum, underside of abdomen and Genitalia examination. Surley the commonest specie in this area. Still no sign of spring activity but as weather getting warmer this might change slowly in the next days. | |
