Yesterday trip to Nizzanim was a part of Flies research held by Tel-Aviv University. After few hours of placing traps we had about 2 hours of walking along the beautifull dunes. example trap-
Checking some Gazella dropings stations we easily saw small holes that Scarabaeus sp made-
After moving some sand the specimens were wasily found:
Beyond the Scarabaeus sp (I didn't ID them yet) we saw many Graphipterus sarrtor (Carabidae) and very few Pimelia angulata syriaca (Tenebrionidae) that were busy digging holes-
Beyond that no other Coleoptera found. Many different flies were all over us and some very large Gazella were runnung aound. I can't wait for February.. | |
